First Snow

It was only yesterday I was commenting on how winter has arrived already. Well, I can confirm it most definitely has. It snowed last night. It’s certainly not the thickest snow I’ve seen in the UK, but certainly think it’s the first time it’s snowed in October since I’ve lived in the [...]

  • → Oh my word, the South Africans have just been given a complete pasting by England in the 2nd One Day International at Trent Bridge. SA were all out for 83 in 23 overs and England replied with 85 for 0 in 14.1 overs. I don’t think I want to watch the highlights tonight; it’ll just be embarrassing. ( 0 )

The Boks Rock - RWC’07 Champions

Woohooo!!!! The Boks have done it again. They’ve beaten England for the 4th time in as many months and taken the Rugby World Cup in the process. Nice one booooyyyyyyys. Pity there weren’t any tries (you know it wasn’t a try England), and even more of a pity Bryan Habana couldn’t set a [...]

The Big Day: Go Bokke

We’ve been waiting for this great day since 18 September, and now we’ve only got a couple more hours to wait for what is going to be the best game in this year’s rugby world cup.
I’m all stocked up on beer. I’ll be popping out later to stock up on biltong, and then I’ll [...]

SA in the RWC Final

Wooohooo!!! The Boks are into the rugby world cup final against England next weekend, and what a game it’s going to be.
In a way, I can’t wait until the world cup is over - the anxiety generated by each of the recent games has been unbelievable, and last night was no exception. [...]

Australia Win the Ashes With Ease

Australia have won The Ashes, again.
It’s such a pity it wasn’t much of a contest this year either. I was really hoping it would be a great battle between two sides that would see the final test deciding who got to “keep” The Ashes for the year. But it wasn’t to be. [...]

  • → England crumbled in the 2nd Ashes Test and managed to lose. How on earth did that happen? Well, England can add another record to the books: No team in history has EVER lost after declaring on a higher total than England’s 551-6 batting first in a Test. Well done chaps. Better luck next time. Remember, it’s the taking part that counts (he says in a posh English accent). ( 0 )

So Close Yet So Far

South Africa were sooo close to winning today’s game.
I’m working, so I had to resort to using the rather biased Five Live commentary to listen to the game. From what I heard, it seems all these boyjies need is a bit more experience, improved fitness and the 13 okes sitting on their arses resting [...]
