  • → Oh my word, the South Africans have just been given a complete pasting by England in the 2nd One Day International at Trent Bridge. SA were all out for 83 in 23 overs and England replied with 85 for 0 in 14.1 overs. I don’t think I want to watch the highlights tonight; it’ll just be embarrassing. ( 0 )

Cricket May Go Pink

The face of cricket may be changing to pink. The powers that be at the MCC (the guardians of the rules of cricket) are in the process of starting trials of a pink cricket ball, with the hopes it will replace the white ball used in Day/Night, Twenty20 and one-day international cricket by 2009.
The [...]

  • → Once again, South Africa have choked when it matters most. South Africa are out of the Twenty-20 cricket world cup. What makes this more disappointing is that South Africa didn’t even have to win. They needed 154 to win, but only 126 to go through on run rate, and they couldn’t manage it. Oh well, we’ve still got the rugby to win. ( 0 )

Broad Klapped Silly By Singh

Q: What do Stuart Broad (England) and Daan van Bunge (Netherlands) have in common?
A: They’ve both been smashed for 6 consecutive sixes in one over this year.
As we all know, Daan van Bunge was clobbered all over the park by Herschelle Gibbs during this year’s cricket world cup, and unfortunately, last night Stuart Broad suffered [...]

  • → I’ve discovered that you can watch the Twenty-20 cricket world cup matches for free on channel 815 on your Sky digibox (Freesat too). The commentary is in Urdu or something, so mute the volume and listen to the commentary on Five Live or Five Live Xtra. ( 0 )
  • → I can’t believe it, Zimbabwe beat Australia in their T20 WC cricket game last night by 5 wickets. This defeat leaves Australia in a bit of a pickle if they plan on getting through to the Super 8s: they have to beat England now. ( 0 )
  • → Well, it looks like an Australia - Sri Lanka World Cup final. The SA - Oz semi is 30 overs in and South Africa have been true to form and suffered another one of their characteristic semi-final breakdowns: 103-8. Why does South Africa always come undone in the semi’s? ( 0 )
  • → I’ve just checked the cricket score for today’s game between SA and England, and quite fittingly, KP has just been caught by Graeme Smith for 3. He won’t be too please about that (the score or who caught him). Prior to his dismissal, there were 13 South African’s (by birth) on the field and 0 Englishmen - KP & Strauss at the crease, the 11 SA fielders and neither of the umps are English either. Watch out, we’re slowly taking over the world. ( 0 )

Close Shave

The final few overs of last yesterday’s cricket was some pretty exciting nail biting stuff. Some how, South Africa went from steaming to victory against Sri Lanka to scraping through by the skin of their teeth. I think those 4 batsmen (you know who you are) should spend more time worrying about their batting [...]

Bob Woolmer

You don’t have to be a cricket fan to know what’s happening in the Caribbean at the moment. I’m not talking about the World Cup Cricket, but rather the news of the murder of Bob Woolmer - the ex-English batsman, ex-South African coach, most the recent Pakistani coach and probably one of the most [...]
