  • → My respect for the BBC is starting to wain. This morning, the news was all about how WiFi ‘maykill me (I like to exaggerate - it connects with The Sun readers better ;-) ). Now this afternoon it’s not. Make up your mind. ( 0 )

Sunshine or No Sunshine?

I wish researchers would make up their bloody minds about our exposure to sunshine: in one breathe they say, “Oooh, sunshine is bad. It gives you skin cancer and you’ll die, so stay out of the sun“. Then they say, “Oooh, sunshine is good. It provides you with Vitamin D that helps protect [...]

Voicemail

Do people actually listen to voicemail? As a company policy, we must setup our voicemail on a daily basis, state our name, company, the date and if we’re going to be away from our desk or are working odd hours.
When I work shifts, particularly late shifts, like this week, I set my [...]

What a Waste of Money

The time has come… Carlos Alberto Parreira touched down in Johannesburg this morning to start his life as the most highly paid person in the South African public eye.
I was absolutely amazed and shocked to hear Carlos Alberto Parreira will be coaching Bafana Bafana in preparation of the 2010 World Cup. I admire him [...]

Is the BBC Becoming Guilty of Sensationalism?

I despise sensational reporting at the best of times and try and avoid it where I can. I don’t read crap papers like The Sun and the Daily Mirror for this exact reason, and often rely on the BBC for their account of the news.

What! No Dragon Meat

Ah come on, this is unbelievable. A Welsh food company has been forced to change the name of their sausages by trading standards because “Welsh Dragon Sausages” was deemed to be misleading.

Jo’burg International is No More

Don’t worry, it’s still there, but as of today, it’s just called the OR Tambo International Airport.
Bloody waste of money if you ask me… South Africa is still a third world country with thousands of people living in poverty, yet members of the government seem to be dead keen on wasting millions of Rands [...]

  • → There seems to be something in the air at the moment. NONE of my customers seem to be able to bloody well read what I send to them. I’ve had 5 customers this morning already who’ve either not sent me what I’ve requested, not done what I’ve requested or even sent me information I didn’t ask for, and don’t really want. I’ve even had a customer send me info that isn’t even related to the problem I’m dealing with. I think SpecSavers need to introduce a proactive service. I’ve got a list of potential customers for them already. ( 0 )

SA Holiday 2006 Part 1: Don’t Fly Air France

Our holiday didn’t start off or end off too well thanks to Air France.
Following the recent liquid terror plot that was foiled just before our holiday, we got to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Actually, we got there with so much time to spare that we got told we had to [...]

Genius!!

Thanks to yesterday’s foiling of a terrorist plot to use liquid explosives in a bid to blow several planes out of the sky, everyone flying from the UK can have no hand luggage.
In the US, things are completely different…
